FIBO Findings: Fitness Remains Strong but Personalization is King
FIBO Findings: Snapshot News from Europe’s Fitness Show
Fitness Remains Strong; Personalization is King
This is the perfect time of year to get a quick, global snapshot of what’s happening in the fitness industry worldwide. The kinds of trends and innovations already underway in Europe that could make major impacts stateside and around the world this year.
That’s all thanks to FIBO, Europe’s single biggest fitness tradeshow, expo and industry forum. The show wrapped last week in Cologne, Germany and the headlines are interesting. Very interesting, in fact.
Top of the list? Fitness as an industry across Europe continues to boom. According to the latest European Health & Fitness Market report, gym and club memberships are expected to climb north of 86 million members by 2025, up from the current 62.2 million. 2018 alone saw an increase of close to four percent and industry revenue is close to $27 billion. Very healthy.
Interesting insights from the keynote sessions too. Orangetheory founder David Long said personalization of the fitness experience will continue to be important and really drive success across the industry. Understanding what club members want and providing options for them to select, curate and really own their in-club experiences. That definitely backs up what we’ve been hearing for the past 24-months from our club customers and gym owners. And it’s a reason we’re continually investing in a deep, broad portfolio of fitness content to help clubs give members what they really want.
